Im Jahr 2013 wird das Internet, wie wir es kennen und lieben, aufhören zu existieren.
Bis jetzt war es eigentlich immer klar: wenn man irgendwo ein dot.com oder dot.org sah, oder eben ein Punkt.de oder Punkt.ch, wußte man: aha, ein Domainname. Eine Webadresse. Browser öffnen und dann kommt was. Meist ging das sogar automatisch, und viele Programme wie Word haben eine URL automatisch erkannt.
Wenn es manchmal – selten – Chaoten gab, die eine andere Endung benutzten, wie z.B. www.blocher.name waren das absolute Ausnahmen, und die Chaoten wie dieser Blocher mußten sich tausendmal rechtfertigen, täglich. Aber das war nicht weiter schlimm – weil das so selten vorkam, hat das die Menschheit in der Summe nicht weiter gestört.
Dieser Zustand hört jetzt auf. Ab sofort herrscht Chaos pur. Domainnamen können links anfangen, oder rechts, oder sonstwie, und jede Zeichenfolge kann ein Domainname sein, man weiß es schlicht nicht mehr. Kein Mensch kann das mehr beherrschen. Jetzt heißt es: www.schwachsinn.شبكة

It’s this type of innovation that will continue to drive our global society.“

Was Akram Atallah und Christine Willett vergessen zu erwähnen: Der Hauptsinn des New gTLD-Programms ist es, die Einnahmen von ICANN, und anderer Stakeholder, zu erhöhen, auf Kosten des Rests der Welt.
